Midnight Marauder (Kodak T-Max 3200)
I felt like a Midnight Marauder throughout this day! This actually might be the first time in which I schedule a shoot with someone; and they never show up. Reason being is unknown but i waited a cool two hours until i decided to go home. But having that thought while I was staring out of a Cafè window; I suddenly felt the urge to walk through Downtown LA. Just me, my film camera, my rolls of film, and my music. I spent over 3 hours walking, and shooting throughout the night. Somehow the city felt quiet, yet it felt much more lively than the other frequent visits to the city. The night was well overcasted with clouds and covered some of the skyscrapers. It gave out a very rich light that luminated the clouds with rich color. Of course I shot all my shots with T-Max 3200 film so they're all B&W images. Besides lively vibes; it felt also nostalgic when I saw the results of my shots. The grainy effect on the film made everything look vintage and it was very pleasing with the contrast and shadow tones that I managed to capture. I listen to Logic a lot. Hands down my favorite artist as of now. No matter what project I do, no matter what I think or feel; when I listen to his music; it makes me feel so much more productive. I start thinking deep with the sounds of his songs that it applies to what I do on a daily basis. So throughout this set, I listened to his Young Sinatra mixtapes on blast. I felt so calm and so intrigued to what I wawas looking at. I stared at the street lights and shadows fading throughout the pavement. Empty offices with a dim light that looked dope. And that one skyscraper building with the lights that touch the sky; fading off in to the night. It's beautiful that even when I felt let down this day, I still managed to be creative and not waste my time going out in to the night and blend in with the city at night. I finished up; bought me some Chick-Fil-A, and went home. Next day I got my film developed, and as of now I've uploaded my shots here on my portfolio/blog site. As always for you people that keep up with my work, it means so much that you have enjoyed what I post. It let's me strive for more and keeps my passion for creating photos much more meaningful.
