A Stormy Collaboration with Ysabella
The first set of 2019! Putting 2018 behind me; I am coming in to this year with some what of a new feel to every shoot. Every set I did in 2018 felt sort of forceful in a sense that each shoot; I kind of had a criteria to meet for that specific day. "What was it that I wanted to achieve out of this and share with you guys?" Now that I've had a lot time to review my past work and criticized on what I can accomplish for future shoots; I can go in depth with this shoot I've done with Ysabella. One thing I loved when working with her throughout the day was the sense of curiosity and thought she had. Curiosity meaning what did I want to capture. Thought meaning sharing her ideas when I wasn't sure what I wanted. Throughout this Saturday afternoon; we have had storms coming and going. I was expecting to shoot in sunlight but the weather was a mixture of thick clouds and blue sky. So every time the sun came out, the clouds immediately gobbled up my light source. But that's not to say I couldn't accomplish what I came to get. Overall I can say this shoot moved up to my top favorites because for sure I got to meet a new friend in Ysabella. I enjoyed shooting because I came in with no expectations or criteria in mind and our outcome happened to be extremely satisfying. And I managed to get a nice smile shot instead of very moody looks lol. We started out over at the Walt Disney Concert Hall and made our way towards LA City Hall. It doesn't matter how many times you come here or any other location repeatedly; you make do with ever inch of space in the area because eventually you'll find something new that you've never seen before on recent visits. Even with clouds covering my light; it gave out a very cool feel and even though I shot a lot of Monochrome, I think you can feel the tone being set in each image. As always I hope you enjoy our collaborative project. Thank you to Ysabella for giving me your time to work with you. Hope we can do it in the near future. And I do apoligize for the long hiatus. I've had a family emergency to attend to in Guatemala so I took a leave of absence to focus at the matter in hand. But wait what I have in store for 2019!!! -BE
