Shadow Experimentation with Jessica
Thanks for tuning in to another photo set I have created. I haven't really had the opportunity to shoot more often due to just lack of ideas. But hopefully I begin to get the jump start I need with this shoot. The main thing I love to go for when I shoot is shadows. As someone who enjoys harsh contrast and depth looks in any form of art is what I tend to practice on getting better every time I go out there shooting. And what better time in getting cast shadows than on a sunny afternoon. I have set up a date to shoot with Jessica here as she came down from Washington for the weekend. When I've checked out her work; I knew I can experiment with her and experiment we have over at FD Studios. As a model, it seems that she is comfortable with a camera focused on her. She had no worries working with what I had planned or been planning as we shot throughout our session. In this studio I rented out over at FD Studios; I think it was Art 2; it has these pretty dope windows as you can see over the 'Callejones' as we hispanic's like to call the shopping area of the Fashion District. During the afternoon the shadows cast by the windows is stretched out throughout the wooden floors and then hits the brick wall. That's where most of the shoot took place. As sun sets; we had to work with the light which was dead center of the platform and it helped out casting shadows downwards and made the setting look more smoother for lack of term. I've also experimented a little bit in up close nude shots. I've recently read through Ralph Gibson's NUDE, and it was a fantastic book. From what I read through his work; by any means I wasn't trying to imitate his work but it did inspire me to do something else, and especially out of my comfort zone. For now I'll leave it at that. As always the images consists of B&W as well as colored images. Thanks to Jessica for the shoot and hope we can link up again. And to you guys reading (or at least looking through) stay tuned for more upcoming shoots.
